Imagers for Earth Observation and other remote sensing applications

Scanway Optical Payloads cameras/imagers designed for remote sensing applications, compatible with both microsatellites and nanosatellites, which support various imaging resolutions and spectral bands, including visible (VIS), near-infrared (NIR), shortwave infrared (SWIR), and multispectral imaging. The payloads can be configured to meet different mission requirements, offering ground sample distances (GSD) of up to 5 m/pixel for nanosatellite systems and submeter resolution for microsatellite systems. The SOP includes two primary configurations: SOP nano, with a 20-100 mm aperture for nanosatellites, and SOP micro, with a 120-450 mm aperture for microsatellites. Both configurations are capable of capturing imagery across multiple spectral bands. Possible applications span various fields, including urban planning, agricultural monitoring, forest health assessment, disaster response, marine monitoring, and facility reconnaissance. The company has developed its know-how during several R&D projects and the development of its own demonstration mission, and is currently supplying cameras to key players in the space industry

The optical systems developed by Scanway are designed to meet the requirements of Earth observation satellite missions, while maintaining low weight, high quality imaging and insensitivity to optical parameters. These include both mirrored and lens systems, which can be easily adapted to various other applications in areas where there are no available solutions. The approach to designing optical components for space applications can be adapted to basically any business purpose, while each application must be addressed practically from the beginning, due to the need to adapt the optics, layout assumptions, etc. The company’s expertise in this area is unique in Poland and throughout Europe; the number of entities able to combine design for space and any other business is very limited. In addition, the company’s offerings are distinguished by a “product-as-a-service” approach in which the company takes comprehensive care of the instrument delivery process: from requirements sourcing to support during camera operation.
